Professor Paradise graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Ph.D. degree in Political Science.
His research is focused on international trade and monetary issues, with particular reference to the Asia-Pacific region.
He is also interested in international organizations, in particular the World Trade Organization (WTO). Born in New York City, he has spent many years in Asia, mostly in Japan where he worked as a stock market and industry analyst and in China, where he carried out research for his dissertation on China and the WTO. At Yonsei, he teaches courses on economics, such as International Economics, Macroeconomics, and East Asian Economic Systems. His publications include articles on Confucius Institutes, China's education diplomacy and international social justice.
